HOLY WEEK, 2009. Holy Week is the biggest holiday of the year here in
All the schools as well as the government offices are closed for two weeks so everyone in the country goes on a vacation, to visit relatives, to travel, etc. Since 1964 we have always used this time to hold special Holy week services when the brethren from the different churches around the country come in for a time of fellowship and ministry. The convention finally got so large that we had to divide it into four different events, with the people gathering into the place nearest to their region for a time of special services during these days when the entire country is remembering the crucifixion and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. I praise God for these opportunities to minister to the needs of the women and families of
MY DAD,
DURING THE LAST TWO YEARS OF HIS LIFE, FRANK was involved in writing a little book about the
women in the lineage of Christ, as well as several booklets on different Bible study subjects. The book about the women “The Winner’s Circle” has been released in both English and Spanish. The thesis of the book deals with the fact that so many of those women were from ‘questionable’ backgrounds—prostitutes, pagans, idolators, adulterers—yet, because of their faith and decision to be part of the followers of God, God put them in the “winner´s circle” by making them part of the lineage of Christ. Either of these books (English or Spanish) can be purchased through Casa Creacion,
or Strang Communications. Or, if you prefer they can be ordered through me at: nolawarren@aol.com. You can also write a letter asking for them to: Jeannie Theo,
THANK YOU SO MUCH for your love, your prayers and your support. Certainly without
you help none of what we do here in

Dear Nola!
ReplyDeleteI was so happy to recieve your newsletter and your blog is beautiful! I have a number of friends who have set up blogs and i'm working on my own as well. I just, this week, bought a new laptop and it can do all the neat stuff so i'm going to try and get my blog up and running. It's a real challenge for me to learn it. Except for taking a basic computer course years ago, i know very little about these fussy little machines. I just have to do lots of
guesswork and try to follow instructions..so far, so good. Hehe.
I love the pictures you put in with your letter and i'm going to be posting some of mine own very soon.
Wow! How wonderful that your Dad celebrated his 90th birthday! I'm sorry to hear about his health though and I will certainly be praying for him that God will give him healing and strength.
It's been a difficult journey for me with all my immediate family gone now..then Ed passing as well and grieving with my children. I'm so glad for the Hope i have in the Lord..i can't imagine not being able to look forward to seeing all of them again.
Once again i watched Shadowlands, the movie about the life of C.S. Lewis starring Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger. I found myself being both comforted and challenged concerning life and how to live it. So many profound statements were made by Lewis and his wife in this movie. One that really stays with me is this. "the pain now is part of the happiness, that's the deal." "we read to know we're not alone."
With love,
Karen
